Welcome — I’m Pick ’Em Paul. This is JPM Picks.
I write about sports betting and stock options with the same focus:
probability, risk, and not doing dumb stuff just because it’s a Tuesday.
If you’ve ever looked at a point spread and thought “that number is lying,”
or looked at an options chain and thought “why does this feel like a sportsbook?”
…yeah. Same.
The one promise
JPM Picks will help you think better about risk.
Not by pretending I can predict the future — but by building a repeatable process you can use in both lanes:
sports betting (odds, edges, bankroll)
options (risk-first strategies, not YOLO chaos)
What you’ll find here
1) Sports — analysis, futures, and the “odds are odds” lens”
I’m not here for “LOCK OF THE CENTURY.”
I’m here for:
what the numbers are actually saying (including odds when they matter)
where value or leverage might be hiding
how to manage risk so one bad week doesn’t nuke the season
and how I think through big questions like “Can anyone dethrone the Dodgers?”
Sometimes I’m right, more times I learn the hard way. Either way, you get the thinking.
2) Options — without the guru nonsense
Options can be smart. Options can also be a casino with extra steps.
Most of what I write lives in the practical zone:
cash-secured puts
covered calls
and other strategies built for discipline, not dopamine
I like income. I like rules. I really like not waking up to a surprise margin problem.
3) Process over predictions
If you want someone to scream picks with 12 flame emojis, I’m not your guy.
